For the past seven months I have been a Social Media Intern here at Media Two Interactive. Today my internship is coming to a close as I get ready to head back to school and start senior year.
I wanted to share a few things that I have learned:
- I learned how to utilize monitoring and reporting tools such as Argyle Social, Sysomos, and Google Analytics. Before interning here I had never used any of these tools, but now I can probably use a tool like Argyle Social to schedule tweets in my sleep.
- I learned how to create a report, and what numbers and stats are important to clients.
- I have learned how to use and manage a WordPress blog. I feel as if I know the ins and outs of how to use WordPress. I learned what a Meta Description is, what a Custom Title Tag does, and how to link keywords to a blog post.
- I got to research different topics that interested me related to the Social Media/Advertising world and write blog posts.
Okay, so enough about what I have learned… let’s talk about what I have gotten out of my internship, non-educationally speaking.
We have a ping pong table and a Wii, can you say awesome? Lunches at The Pit, Flying Saucer, The Roast, among other places. Meeting people within the industry that I, more than likely, would have never meet otherwise. Attending industry events such as Media Leaders. Attending Triangle AMA Events. And lastly, having awesome co-workers.
Working here at Media Two as an intern I felt as if I was part of the team. I was given responsibilities and tasks to complete, and was held accountable for what was assigned to me. I never felt as though I was on my own and was encouraged to ask questions if I didn’ t understand something. Overall, I had a awesomely, amazing experience here at Media Two and wish I didn’t have to leave!
