My 2011 Wish List

Durham Bulls Athletic Park

I read an interesting post from Seth Godin about knowing who you want to work with in the future. It was a typical Seth style short post that leaves you thinking.

I can honestly say that at this time last year my goal was to be working at Media Two. I was convinced that they had the perfect creative culture where I could do my best work. I’m happy to say I was right, and I’ve never been happier.

I’d love to have a chance to work with the Durham Bulls. The Bulls are one of the best run and most successful minor league affiliates in the country. If you’ve ever been out to beautiful Durham Bulls Athletic Park you know that it’s like a dream. I can’t imagine anything better than being able to work on marketing a professional baseball team.

Less flashy but just as awesome is Kimley-Horn & Associates in Cary. They do some pretty amazing work but their current website should showcase them so much better. They are constantly rated as one of the best places to work in the entire country. I would love getting the word out about one of North Carolina’s true gems.

Lisa Baron

In 2011 I want to finally meet my favorite blogger Lisa Barone. I’ve been a huge fan of the sheer volume of her writing and her writing style, but mostly of her content. There’s very few of her articles that I don’t get something useful from. I almost tracked her down this past year while she was in town, but then found out it was just a short layover at RDU airport.

If you haven’t read Lisa’s stuff before, I suggest you start with these:

Did I mention Lisa is also a big Red Sox fan? Did I mention she’s a Red Sox fan living in New York!?!? Yeah, it really doesn’t get any better than that.

Who and what is on your 2011 list?

Hey Phil. Thanks for the very kind words. I hope your wish comes true and we do, in fact, get to meet up in 2011. I’d love that. Here’s to a great New Year! :)

I know we’ll bump into each other eventually, but I figure if I plan for it it might be sooner rather than later.

I would like to do social media for Kevin Durant for my wish list.

I hear the Bulls need a water boy… All kidding aside, I enjoyed reading up on your 2011 wish list. I’ve been thinking a lot about next year myself. I wish I could say I’ve already figured it out. Beyond “Do some kick-ass projects” it’s all still fuzzy. I hope your wishes come true!

@Christine, let me add one more to my list… work with you on a regular basis.

I’ve got two great friends who work at Kimley-Horn and I used to play with their company’s kickball team. (And people say you can’t network through elementary-style sports…) Let’s talk.
