So, I was forever dragging my feet on the idea that we bring in a design intern until I got an email from Kenneth Ashley Nicholson. I quickly changed my mind. He emailed us with the offer of being our errand boy, but with his SEO and PHP skill set, we thought he would make a better design intern than coffee runner. (I’m still looking to find that coffee-errand person…anyone?)
He’s a born and raised North Carolinian who describes himself as drawing from day one, and disassembling and assembling computers from day two. Put the two in a blender, and what do you get? A Graphic Designer! He’s already taking the pixels by the horns and working away on his Wacom tablet—diving into web design, brainstorming, and flash animation. Not sure if he has been challenged to a game of Ping Pong by the team yet, but that is only a matter of time.
“Shaken, not stirred,” this American says with a perfect British accent. A British accent isn’t the only accent he can do. On his accent utility belt he can do a Jamaican, Russian, Spanish, Irish, Indian, Southern US, Northern US and even pull off a Sean Connery!
A Dizygotic twin (because Dizygotic sounds awesome), or non-identical twin, Kenneth prides himself with being a minute older then his younger brother. “Yea, a minute is not a big difference but saying I’m older makes me feel wiser, every little boost helps”, Nicholson says.
“It is not everyday you come along a place like Media Two,” he continues. “The working environment, the people, the location, the technology, the creative scents frolicking through the beautiful Media Two building is something I have dreamt about being connected to since I was a young boy. Normally creativity, or off the wall ideas, are not allowed at work. At Media Two they are not only allowed but they flourish.”
